Meet the Owner: BurgerFuel Upper Hutt

In March 2026, BurgerFuel Upper Hutt welcomed a passionate new franchisee whose journey spans continents, cultures, and a deep love for great food, music, and community.

Originally from Modasa, a small town in western India, his story began far from New Zealand. At just 18 years old, he made the move to study abroad, arriving in New Zealand in 2016. What started as a study adventure quickly turned into something more permanent. A decade later, he’s proud to call Aotearoa home—and even prouder to be part of the BurgerFuel family.

A Natural Fit with BurgerFuel

What drew him to BurgerFuel wasn’t just the food—it was the culture. With a strong passion for cars, art, and music, the brand felt like a natural match from the start. In fact, he’s such a fan of Radio BurgerFuel that he jokes about having “Shazammed an infinite number of songs” while listening.

It’s this unique blend of creativity and energy that makes BurgerFuel stand out for him—and now, as a franchisee, he gets to live and breathe that every day.

What Makes BurgerFuel Special

Ask him what he loves most about BurgerFuel, and the answer comes easily: the burgers—and especially the aioli.

“The best aioli I have ever had,” he says.

But beyond the food, it’s the people and the culture that truly make the experience special. For him, BurgerFuel is more than a brand—it’s a community.

Giving Back to Upper Hutt

Being part of the Upper Hutt community is something he takes seriously. As a franchisee, he actively connects with local businesses, gyms, and childcare centres, and is always keen to get involved in community events.

Whether it’s supporting local initiatives or simply showing up where it matters, he’s committed to making a positive impact beyond the store.

Local Favourites

When he’s not at BurgerFuel, you’ll likely find him exploring the best that Upper Hutt has to offer. Some of his favourite local spots include:

Staglands Wildlife Reserve
Trentham Racecourse
Remutaka Trail

With its stunning landscapes and welcoming people, Upper Hutt is a place he’s proud to be part of.

BurgerFuel Favourites & Hacks

When it comes to the menu, he has a clear favourite:

BBQ Roadster with brie, beetroot, and jalapeños.

And his go-to BurgerFuel hack?

“Add onion rings and BBQ sauce to every burger.”

Simple—but game-changing.

Life Beyond the Grill

While he doesn’t yet own a BurgerFuel “machine,” he does drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee—so the love of cars is definitely still part of his life.

And here’s a fun fact: he has a strong affinity for the Spanish language and culture.

“I love how it sounds—everything just feels more alive. I listen to Spanish music a lot.”
