Chrome Horsepower Festival 2026

The BurgerFuel garage rolled back into Hampton Downs for the 2026 Chrome Horsepower Festival, bringing along a couple of our favourite machines and setting up camp for a full weekend of horsepower. Chrome is one of New Zealand’s biggest celebrations of car culture, taking over Hampton Downs with everything from cruising and roll racing to drifting, burnouts, grip sessions, hard park and show & shine.

After making its debut at GTR Festival earlier this year, our Midnight Purple-inspired Nissan R35 GTR was back in action, and this time, we put it straight to work.

BurgerFuel once again sponsored the Cab Stop, where festivalgoers could line up for passenger rides in some of the cars taking part across the weekend. Naturally, the GTR joined the line-up, taking willing passengers out on track and giving them a proper taste of what our newest BurgerFuel machine can do.

When the GTR wasn't out stretching its legs, it was parked up in the BurgerFuel zone alongside another familiar face from the garage, our Plymouth GTX. With two very different generations of horsepower on display, there was plenty for petrolheads to check out.

And the GTR wasn't just built for the track. With a PS5 set up in the boot, festivalgoers could jump on and put their own virtual driving skills to the test straight from the back of the car. Add in the BurgerFuel prize wheel spinning out giveaways throughout the weekend, and there was plenty happening in our corner of Chrome even when the GTR wasn't out on track.

Between passenger rides, gaming, giveaways and an endless stream of seriously cool machinery rolling past, Chrome delivered another massive weekend for the BurgerFuel crew.
