BURGERFUEL X HASER

Haser and BurgerFuel have shared a creative connection for 15 years. For Creative, Sweet, he brings that relationship to life through Haukura, a rare limited-edition artwork inspired by Te Ao Māori and BurgerFuel’s iconic neon aesthetic.

INNOVATION

Haser has been part of the BurgerFuel world for a long time. Artist, creative troublemaker and close friend of the brand, he’s one of the people who helped shape Creative, Sweet from the beginning, back when the idea was simple: give good artists some walls, get out of their way and make BurgerFuel stores feel less like stores. His work has the kind of energy we’ve always gravitated towards: bold, unmistakable and made by an actual human with something to say. Which, in an increasingly beige world, is quite nice.

So, when we decided to create a limited run of Creative, Sweet art, getting Haser involved wasn’t exactly a difficult decision. He’s created an exclusive piece for BurgerFuel, taking his own visual language and putting it into the BurgerFuel world. Hang it in the lounge, garage, hallway, office or directly above the shrine you’ve constructed to your favourite burger. We’re not here to tell you how to decorate. We’re just saying there aren’t many of these, and when they’re gone, they’re gone.

Available exclusively through BurgerFuel Parts & Supply head HERE.

Haser x BurgerFuel: 15 Years of Creative Energy

Some creative partnerships come and go. Others stick around long enough to become something closer to friendship.

For artist Haser, his relationship with BurgerFuel has been building for the better part of 15 years.

As one of the original artists involved in Creative, Sweet, Haser has been part of the BurgerFuel creative universe since the early days — and what’s kept the connection going all this time comes down to one thing: passion.

Built on mutual respect

“I think there’s a mutual respect towards passion between myself and BurgerFuel,” Haser says.

“As much as they love crafting the best burgers, I love to explore the limits of my craft. If you were to remove our disciplines out of the picture, you’d probably find we share the same energy.”

That shared energy has created a relationship that has gone well beyond a standard artist collaboration.

Over the years, BurgerFuel has given Haser the freedom to bring his own perspective to the table — or, as he puts it, ride shotgun and occasionally help choose the direction.

“A relationship like that takes a lot of trust, but before the trust there must be respect. I think our dedication towards our individual purpose is what solidifies that connection.”

“My relationship with BurgerFuel is more than a business deal or collaboration, it’s a friendship.”

Introducing Haukura

For this latest Creative, Sweet collaboration, Haser has opened the door to a more personal side of his work.

His wider practice includes a body of work created specifically under the Haser name — pieces that explore who he is as both a person and an artist, his place in the world and how he feels about it.

Normally, that work stays separate from outside influence or brand collaboration.

This time felt different.

“I felt BurgerFuel and I were at a point in our lives where these two could co-exist.”

The result is Haukura, a piece named after the Māori translation for “Neon”.

While the artwork stems from Haser’s exploration of Te Ao Māori, the concept also connects naturally with BurgerFuel’s unmistakable neon aesthetic.

It’s where two parts of his creative world meet — something personal, layered with a visual language that has been part of BurgerFuel for decades.

Something rare for the wall

Haser doesn’t release a huge amount of his work into the public space, making Haukura a particularly special piece.

For anyone who takes one home, his hope is simple.

“A vibrant space.”

But there’s also something more behind it.

“This piece is a unique collaboration. I don’t release too much work into the public space, so there is the rare opportunity to invest in something special.”

After 15 years of art, burgers, mutual respect and shared creative energy, Haukura feels like the natural next chapter.

A little bit Haser. A little bit BurgerFuel.

And a whole lot of neon.
