FEEDING THE LEGENDS: Aussie Butcher New Lynn

Posted by BurgerFuel

Every month we shout burgers to the legends among us who give back to their community or help people in need.

This month, we wanted to showcase a butcher, who is known as a local legend and a loved hero within the West Auckland community.

Reuben Sharples at Aussie Butcher New Lynn, has been producing premium quality meat products since 2008 and has been respectfully rated as the Number #1 Best Butcher in Auckland.

Not only is he active within the world of butchery, but he spends countless hours investing and giving back to his community.

Reuben is a testament to helping others and contributes heavily into his community by providing sponsorships, donations to schools and sports teams, and is a proud partner of the Kindness Collective Foundation. Reuben and his family are also regular supporters of the Child Cancer Foundation, where they fundraise vital funds for their incredible work and campaigns.

With butcheries not being able to operate during Alert Level 4, Reuben has found other ways to help his community by donating food parcels to Auckland food banks, and has generously fed over 3,000 families during the 2020/2021 lockdown periods.

More recently, Reuben has been hailed a Lockdown Hero, when he went to work helping a local competitor put meat on their shelves. Reuben's been helping his local supermarket, New World Green Bay, by getting on the tools, slicing and dicing, to help keep the grocery store stocked with meat. His generosity helped an understaffed supermarket be able to serve the community in a time of need.

To say thanks for being an absolute legend, and for all the amazing mahi with helping others in the community, we’ll be making sure Reuben, his whānau, and his team at the Aussie Butcher are well fed with burgers!

Head to Aussie Butcher New Lynn to show your support for Reuben and the team at 10 Margan Ave, & follow @aussiebutchernewlynn on IG, and check out their website here.
