Beach Hop 2025 Roars into Whangamatā
A Celebration of Classic Cars, Rock ‘n’ Roll, and Kiwi Culture

Over 100,000 people flocked to the sunny coastal town of Whangamatā in the Coromandel for the 25th annual Repco Beach Hop, one of New Zealand’s most iconic festivals celebrating the golden era of the 1950s and '60s. With more than 2,000 beautifully restored classic cars lining the streets, the atmosphere was electric as car enthusiasts, rockabilly fans, and families came together for five days of high-octane nostalgia.

Among the roaring engines and chrome bumpers, BurgerFuel brought the noise – and a splash of signature purple – by showcasing three of their own legendary classic cruisers. Their line-up included the sleek and muscular 1972 Fairmont XA Coupé, the bold and beautiful 1965 Plymouth GTX, and the thunderous 1965 Dodge Coronet. These iconic machines turned heads throughout the festival, making appearances in Pauanui, Onemana, and of course, along the legendary main strip of Whangamatā.

BURGERFUEL BROUGHT THE NOISE

Beach Hop isn’t just about cars – it’s a full-on celebration of vintage culture, with retro fashion shows, surf comps, pin-up pageants, live rock ‘n’ roll bands, and even a nostalgia-themed drive-in cinema. This year, the energy was next-level, with sunny skies, an incredible community vibe, and thousands of proud Kiwis showing off their prized rides. Hoons and loons from every corner of the country descended on the Coromandel coast, united by a shared love for old-school horsepower, vinyl tunes, and the laid-back lifestyle that makes Beach Hop such a standout on the events calendar.

Whether you came to show off your ride, dance in the street, or just soak up the atmosphere, Beach Hop 2025 was an unforgettable party and a shining tribute to classic Kiwi car culture.
