BurgerFuel HQ Masterclass #5

Posted by BurgerFuel

Appreciating our Good Bastards

Fun, Fast and Loud speaks to our epic staff, unique service style and the high energy atmosphere in our stores. We strive to provide a burger experience that’s packed with loads of personality and the team work hard to deliver on that. With a focus on culture in store, the aim is always to serve fresh to order, quality burgers, quick-as, and all while having fun on shift.

We put our hand on heart when we say our burger business is built around good people. Without them, BurgerFuel wouldn’t be where we are today. Their days are often filled with early mornings, late nights, hectic rushes, and lots of prep, and still they are passionate, energetic and the comradery is on point.

So this is where the Good Bastard and HQ Masterclass comes in...

BurgerFuel HQ asks store staff to nominate teammates that have been “Good Bastards”. Nominations range from those who cover last minute shifts, bring an epic vibe, or go above and beyond. HQ then gives a big shout out to these Good Bastards and enter them all in the draw to win the ultimate HQ Masterclass experience.

Then every two months, SIX top performing staff members are randomly selected from the nomination list and flown up to Auckland, to BurgerFuel HQ for an all expenses paid one of a life time BurgerFuel experience.

"The highlight was definitely the driving around in those classic BurgerFuel cars." - William Armstrong, Takapuna

"My favourite part was getting to meet everyone and take in all the knowledge and experience. The Satellite Kitchen blew my mind. Just the amount of Aioli produced wth such precision, unreal." - Matt Williemsen, Pt Chev

"The highlight for me was getting to hang out with all the legends at HQ, have a few drinks and see behind the scenes! The kitchen master class and seeing how much work goes into desinging the burgers and menu really blew my mind." - Josh Winnie, Ponsonby

Best parts of working at BurgerFuel...

We asked the winners what the best parts of working at BurgerFuel is...

"The best part about working with BurgerFuel has got to be all the people you meet, as well as the tasty food." - William Armstrong, Takapuna

"I love working for BurgerFuel because of the people and how the brand encuorages team culture. It's fun making burgers and seeing the smiles of the customers but it wouldn't mean anything if you had bad workmates/owners." - Matt Willemsen, Pt Chev

"The best part of working at BurgerFuel for me is definitely the people I work with and the vibe in general in store! It's been a great opportunity to build my leadership skills in a fun and supportive environment." - Josh Winnie, Ponsonby

BurgerFuel Hacks...

We asked for tips & tricks from the burger making experts...

"My BurgerFuel hack would have to be motobites with Chipotle and BBQ." - William Armstrong, Takapuna

"Single Muscle, swap beef patty for crumbed chicken patty, add mascapone. Let it rest (age, i like to call it) for honestly 30 mins to 1 hour and mwah! The sauces absorb into the chicken batter and it's still slightly warm so you can absolutely demo it!" - Matt Willemsen, Pt Chev

"My go to hack is a single muscle with added bacon and BBQ sauce. It's simple but soooooo good!" - Josh Winnie, Ponsonby
