The New Zealand Tattoo & Art Festival 2016

Posted by BurgerFuel

BurgerFuel was a part of this year’s New Zealand Tattoo and Art festival, held in New Plymouth at the TSB Arena on the 26th and 27th of November.

Radio BurgerFuel teamed up with Kevin May aka DJ Kritikl, formerly of the NZ Band Tadpole (hell yes, throw back) to provide sounds for the event. Located outside, our spot looked onto Nitro Circus star and BurgerFuel Brand Ambassador Nick Franklin as he, along with Levi Sherwood were able to show off their killer FMX skills to the sounds of sweet sweet tunes. As well as the FMX there was the crew from Freestyle Lifestyle BMX, rocking a show filled with backflips, front flips and 360 variations. The two groups went one for one at entertaining the crowd. They be crazy!

The event itself housed artists from around the globe, it was a badass colourful haven for tattoo and art lovers alike. From London and San Fran to Australia and within Aotearoa tattoo artists were able to bask in their own glory, creating masterpieces in front of hundreds of onlookers. Names like Megan Massacre, Dan Smith, Tommy Helm and Jesse Smith were on show for 48 hours, resulting in the biggest tattoo festival in Australasia.

Our BurgerFuel VIB winner was able to secure a trip for two, flights, accommodation and tickets to the New Zealand Tattoo and Art Festival on top of a custom tattoo by LA Inks NZ Artist Dan Smith,
worth up to $500!
