BurgerFuels Kat Benson tears up the track!

BurgerFuel’s Kat Benson had a frantic and exciting weekend at the Taupo Motorsport Park running the track in reserve on the 19th February 2011 for a DMNZ event hosted by Drew Donovan.  During testing on Saturday everything was tracking well and the GSR looked quick, driver Kat Benson picked up the new track/lines and layout quickly with some mentoring from NZ drift legends Carl Ruiterman and Andrew Redward.

With one minor technical issue the experienced E and H Motors crew were on hand to sort this issue super quick so that Kat was able to bust some crazy moves on the track in the afternoon. Time Attack is all about gripping and holding speed through a corner instead of having allot of fun flying sideways – by the end of the day she had this sorted with a few tweaks to the throttle control.

The GSR was running its low boost tune of 330KW, the wheels proved to be a solid and reliable platform to work with. Kat Benson was getting quicker and quicker throughout the day. All in all a wicked day for the team!

Kat is in the process of confirming the next Pukekohe/Hampton Downs open days – so stay tuned to the BurgerFuel racing website for the chance to have hot laps in the car!

The next event to check out Kat at will be the V 4 and Rotary Jamboree held in Palmerston North on the 25th and 26th of March.

Kicker Car Kit out Mobile BurgerFuel

All it took was one simple brief; we wanted the loudest, baddest, sound system around! The kids at Kicker Car had no problems fulfilling this and kitted out the newly conceived BurgerFuel mobile with one hell of a sound system.

4 x 08S15L54 15” Square Subwoofer:

750w of power per subwoofer and there’s 4 of them!!

Kicker’s square subwoofer technology gets you 22% more cone area than the same size round woofer, more cone area means moving more air, moving more air means going LOUDER!

2 x 10DX1000.1 1000w 1 ch DX series power amplifier:

1 x 1000w each of pure Kicker power!!! 1 Amplifier to power 2 of the massive 15” subwoofers!

2 prs 07KMT6 Kicker Wake tower speakers:

The Kicker KMT6 is a premium wake tower speaker system designed to be heard while on a wakeboard or ski’s behind the boat! The long throw technology means that they are perfect for any outdoor application, loud and water tight!! Each tower pod boasts 2x6” marine woofers and a horn loaded tweeter for long throw sound!! To throw sound that far you need power, each speaker pod is rated at 150w!!

2 x 08DX200.4 200w 4ch DX series amplifier:

Each DX200.4 amplifier is set to run a pair of the KMT6 wake tower speakers!! Each of the KMT6 speakers are getting at least 100w each to achieve the long throw sound that Burgerfuel required!

1 x 09IK350 Kicker I-pod dock:

Designed to be the loudest and clearest I-Pod dock for your money the IK350 is perfect for tunes inside the kitchen and with the built in outputs plugged into the Pioneer head unit what you hear inside is what is being played outside. The IK350 IPod dock also features an AUX in plug which is used to plug in the DJ that's scratching some tunes on the roof  and is played through the outside system! Cool eh!

Kicker Cable:

When you have the best amps, speakers and subwoofers you need to get the power to the amps, using true gauge cable with strand counted tinned copper you can be assured the power will get through!!

Kicker cables are where it’s at!

Pioneer DEH-5150UB head unit:

Pioneer have a reputation for DJ product, home audio product and car audio product in particular head units so it was a natural partnership for Kicker.

The DEH-5150UB boasts CD/MP3 capability, USB input, Front AUX in (3.5mm), 6 ch RCA output plus as much sound processing tweaks and tunes as you will ever need.

2 x D34 Optima Yellow top batteries:

Just as important as the cables is battery power, Kicker recommends Optima batteries!!! That is all!

Powertech MP3090 power supply:

To keep the Optima batteries at their best and conditioned while plugged into either the generator or the 240v mains a Powertech 40amp switchable power supply was purchased from Jaycar.
